I'm Norwegian but I moved to England when I was younger to study. It was during my study period there in England that I met Thomas.
I had all my winters in childhood at Norefjell, so when it came to selecting the location for our big day, there was really no other option in my mind. We've had many Sunday afternoons at Sole Hotel on the way home from skiing so it was on the top of our list.
The staff at Sole helped me realize my dream of a magical winter wedding, even though it was difficult since I lived in England. With the help of Odd Alsvik, the general manager of the hotel, there was nothing that was a problem and he made my day better than I thought possible.
The ceremony took place in Veikåker chapel with a snowy Norefjell in the background, and I could not have asked for nicer weather... We woke up to brilliant sunshine and blue skies on Saturday, 2/21/15.
After the ceremony there was champagne and photos at the hotel, followed by an absolutely incredible bridal dinner with a warm atmosphere, delicious food and drinks served in the dining hall of the hotel.
After dinner we were fortunate to have the Krogstad Big Band take care of the entertainment and dancing, and they were amazing! We had the bridal waltz and said it was time for cognac and cake in Dr. Carlson's dining room at the hotel. The cake was ordered from Sverre Sætre's Confectionery in Oslo.
After all the dancing, we had our midnight snack of bread and frankfurters with all the condiments you could ever imagine.
The day was an adventure, and I don't think we could've had a more magical day! Thanks to the staff at the Sole Hotel, Krødsherad church and the beautiful party premises on Sole Hotel... it is highly recommended.
