Holmen Church, which is Sigdal's main church, is located in Prestfoss.
It was built in 1853, the same year that the "poem priest", Jørgen Moe became ordained there.
Just by the Holmen rectory, there stood an older church from before. In the 1840s this church had become so frail that the then-pastor, Stub, had a serious concern with regard to the church's stability, so they rebuilt.
Holmen Church is a cruciform church, built in timber and paneled. It has 700 seats, and the altarpiece, painted by Axel Ender, shows the crucifixion.
The interior is light and open.
